Lisa Altobelli

Welcome

I’m a NYC freelance writer + editor who covers sports, travel and fitness. My most recent staff roles were in digital content at ESPN and the NFL. Before then, I was at Sports Illustrated for close to a decade. Why sports? I’ve always lived for them. I played three varsity sports in high school and will always bleed Terrier blue.

As a freelancer, I’ve covered USA Basketball and the US Open, in addition to long-form features for the official Super Bowl game programs. I’ve also delved into branded content for Visit Las Vegas and Condé Nast Traveler.

For studies, I have a bachelor’s in journalism from Boston U. and a master’s in the same from Columbia U. For my thesis, I focused on Eddie Shore and old-time hockey. It was inspired by "Slap Shot," which my big brother pretty much played on a loop… and I do like to say Ogie Oglethorpe a lot.

I appreciate the visit and shoot me a message on my contact page if you would like to collaborate!
